How to connect with Instagram?

To start managing your Instagram orders in Orders App, you need to connect your Instagram account to the app. This guide walks you through the steps. It only takes a few taps.

Before you start

You need an Instagram Business or Creator account. A personal Instagram account won't work. If you're still on one, switch it over in the Instagram app first.

Open Connections

Open Orders App and tap the Settings tab (the gear icon at the bottom). Then tap Connections. This is where you connect WhatsApp and Instagram to Orders App.

Connect your Instagram account

Under Instagram, tap Connect next to Instagram Business.

A new window opens and asks you to log in to Instagram. Enter your Instagram details and sign in.

You're connected

Your Instagram account now shows under Instagram with an Active label. Tap it to see its options.

  • Create orders from chats: when this is on, new Instagram chats turn into orders automatically. Turn it off to stop this.

  • Disconnect: removes your Instagram account from Orders App.

From now on, when a customer sends order details in your Instagram DMs, Orders App picks up the details, such as the product, quantity, customer name and delivery address. It then adds the order to your Orders screen automatically.

Send automatic replies

Orders App can also reply to your customers on Instagram for you. Go to Settings > Automations. You'll see two replies:

  • Order confirmation: sent when an order is created.

  • Payment confirmation: sent when a payment is received.

Tap a reply to open it. Make sure Send automatically is on, then edit the message if you like. To add the order number or tracking link, tap Order number or Tracking link below the message. They're filled in for each order.

Note

You can connect both Instagram and WhatsApp to the same account. Your orders from both channels will then live together in one place.

Tip

If your Instagram is still a personal account, the connection won't go through. Switch to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram app, then try connecting again.
